My artwork often contains wisdom that precedes my self understanding. On June 19, 2024 I created a silk (notably, the yellow silk functioning as the keystone in this presentation) that revealed to me that I was transgender.

Working within this revelation over the coming year, I created the body of work documented below. I view the installation as the visual companion to my diary during this exhausting, first period of my transition, and I chose to read excerpts from my diary during the event.

Due to constraints of the space and additional progress made, not all of the work was shown. My intention is to one day share this project in its entirety. If you are interested in working towards this vision with me,

Magnets placed on both interior & exterior sides of windows held smaller silks in place.
Silks were suspended/pinned into twine radiating from a single point.
View between two silks. Difficult to see in photographs, there was enough room between pieces to accommodate body movement between.
